Taking the first step toward feeling less overwhelmed is at your reach. Schedule your consultation and let’s start this journey together.
Isn’t achieving your goals supposed to make you happy?
You worked so hard to get to where you are in life. You achieved the goals you set out to do. Working hard helped you feel accomplished and proud of yourself, at least in the short term. As soon as you accomplished a goal the satisfaction only lasted for a brief moment until you felt the need to chase your next goal. You never wanted your work to impact your personal relationships and thought that being successful in your career would help support the life you wanted. The reality is, you can’t seem to find a balance between your work and personal life and you’re losing sight of what is really important to you.
You may find it difficult to wind down after a work day, replaying events of the day, and worrying about what you have to do tomorrow or in the future. You feel like you are doing everything for other people and are overwhelmed trying to make sure you don’t let anyone down. You are tired of feeling like no one understands you and wish you could feel calm and look forward to your days. You wish you could be more energized and present for your partner and family, but at the day’s end you are exhausted and annoyed.
You don’t want to do this alone anymore
You told yourself that if you could achieve your goals you would feel happy and others would look up to you. You didn’t want to be the person who was too busy to be present for the people that truly matter to you. It’s impacting your friendships, family, and your partner. My clients just want to feel fulfilled in their careers, without sacrificing their own wellbeing and personal relationships. Many of my clients come to me because they are struggling to make the changes they want to and are afraid of what might happen if they pull back on their commitments.
Most of my clients experiencing chronic stress are struggling to balance showing up for others and having personal time, while also maintaining a career they are proud of.
Therapy may be for you if:
Your life looks good on paper but you feel exhausted and tense most days
Your relationships are struggling and feeling distant
You rarely find time to do something fun for yourself
You don’t want to work so hard all the time but fear that you will lose control if you take a step back
You feel uneasy if there is downtime and feel you should be doing something productive at all times
Struggling to figure out what self-care means to you
My goal for my clients is to help them better understand their desire to overbook their schedules and how this may be holding them back from feeling more fulfilled (& being kind to themselves along the way).
Therapy for chronically stressed workaholics isn’t:
Me telling you that you shouldn’t work hard
Me telling you that you should only care about yourself and forget other people in your life
You are expected to be consistent and make changes immediately
Me recommending that you quit your job that you’ve worked hard for
We’ll meet for your initial intake session to get a sense of what your needs are and where I can help. I’m excited to help clients who want to strengthen their personal relationships and make changes in their schedules to prioritize themselves. People who have a lot on their plate they want to discuss and are ready to work on building a life that is more intentional and meaningful. What we process in therapy is 100% confidential. You may feel vulnerable initially, but at your pace, what you choose to discuss and how we approach solutions and coping is up to you.
